EDITORIAL DESIGN

This week in the workshops we looked at further developing our In Design skills.

I started by looking at the following to design layouts:

 

I was then given the task of recreating these posters in In Design.

Here are my attemps at recreating them, Poster 1:

For this poster, I wanted to create something visually similar but not a carbon copy due to time constraints. I feel that this has been successful, however, to further improve this outcome I would look closer at fonts used.

Despite this I believe that the workshop has helped my understanding of layout and further developed my familiarity of grids and their importance. 

Poster 2:

I have also had a quick attempt at making my own layout. Like the Rat City spread I wanted to keep min fairly simplistic. I chose a random picture from Pexles.com and based my spread around that. I used various techniques which I had learnt from the workshop to do this, for example, the 'type on path' tool, 'pen' tool and 'text adjustment' tools.
