Font Development

This weeks workshop was a chance to further develop the fonts I had started to create in the previous workshop. I started with my first font, the highrise font. I used a grid, pencil sketches and coloured markers to create the alphabet below.

I liked this alphabet the best, I liked the structure and uniformity of the alphabet. I decided to develop it further in my next workshop.

I then looked at my city architecture font. I did struggle to identify enough variation between the building designs without doing much additional reseach. I do like the overall look of the font but I felt like too much development was needed to create an upper case/lower case variation.

Finally,  I looked at my streetlight font. I struggled with the legibility of the font which is why I chose not to develop it any further. Despite this I do like the effect and concept of the font design.
