3D After Effects
I went away and tried again in my own time.
I had chosen the quote "I am still learning" by Michelangelo, this is because I felt that it was relevant to this course. I started by hand writing the quote and scanning it into the computer, opening it in photoshop and removing the background. Once I had done taht I imported it into After Effects and began editing it. This however caused problems and came up with many error messages and even hid parts of my layers. After I was unable to resolve the issues during the workshop with the help of the tutor, I decided to render what I had done and start again from scratch.
I went away and created some hand illustrations, inspired by Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel, I then opened these in after effects with my text. However, I was still experiencing technical issues, my text this time didnt appear how I had drawn it, instead it appeared as grey boxes seen below.
I decided to just create my quote using the text tool in After Effects instead of spending more time trying to get my scans to work. I also decided to add a short track underneath the video so I went to the http://freemusicarchive.org/ and downloaded Chris Zabriskie's Cylinder Nine. The main form of animation for this piece is the camera movement. It moves slowly away from the content.
I also animated the text to move out from the centre.
Here is a copy of my final piece of work.
