Today I made a video of a tree...

About the project

This project was a short introduction into using After Effects.

I started by going around campus taking a series of photographs of this tree, a willow by the canal. In total, I had between 30-40 images.

I started by opening every image in photoshop and making sure that they were suitable for the UK standard TV size (1080x1920).

Next, I imported the folder of my newly formatted images into Adobe After Effects. I then created a 'composition' and named it 'Tree'. The settings I used were:
Size 1080x1920
Length: 00:00:10:00
Frame Rate: 25

Once opened I added a blank white jpeg to act as a fade into the video. I then dragged each image, one by one, onto the timeline. I staggered each image by 5 frames and at the end of the sequence, I used the blank white jpeg again to fade the clip out.

I then added text over the blank jpeg with my blog name and address.

To further develop this product I would visit the Free Music Archive website to find a short track to play underneath my video.
